The year 2024 is a special one because it's the Year of the Dragon. In Chinese culture, the dragon is a symbol of good fortune and strength. My family and I celebrated the New Year with many traditions and some funny moments too.
On New Year's Eve, we had a big feast with all kinds of delicious food. My grandma made dumplings from scratch, and I tried to help by making the dough. It was messy, and I ended up with more flour on my face than on the counter! We all laughed, and I learned that making dumplings is not as easy as it looks.
We also hung up red decorations and paper cuttings with dragon designs on the windows. I made my own dragon using red paper, and it looked a little crooked, but my mom said it was unique.
